Suit and Tie fashion trends for 2008

Traditionally business attire has been more conservative than what one might see at fashion shows or Oscar nominees. The fear of looking too flashy or standing out too much from the crowed are good reasons for this. In business it is better to dress slightly more on the conservative side.

For 2008 however designers use some quite traditional styles that go well with the business attire.

Colored Shoes
Fashion designers are using more color for shoes in 2008. Even dress shoes used for a suit and tie attire are fashionable especially in cream color, navy blue and even red. For the traditional business look having more color on your feet does work although one should stay away from too bright of a color such as red. As a general rule: The shoe color should match your belt color. Preferred are shades of brown, cream or navy blue. If you are going for a different shoe color than black it is important that the same color shade appears on other parts of your outfit. Shoes are accessories and their color should be combined with other accessoroes such as belts of the tie.

Three piece suit
The three piece is something that will never go out of style completly. For 2008 the three piece suit is once again more popular. In business this look appears slightly more trendy and typically it fits better to the younger generation. All three pieces of the suit have to match. Since this type of attire is more fashionable one should choose a fashionable tie in conservative colors such as navy blue or burgundy red. Wearing a bright yellow or pink tie with the three piece suit would be to overwhelming and is not suited for business attire. Bringing in some color to the outfit is encouraged however. Brown shoes and belt combined with a dark navy blue and pinstriped three piece suit is quite elegant. In addition it gives the attire a less rigid look.

Rolled up pants
If you roll up your dress pants once or twice you are making a fashion statement. In business this is less appropriate but if your style is to have a slight edge in your attire you might want to consider this. It is very important however that you wear a nice pair of dress socks. Socks made from a very fine threaded cotton fabric that have small geometrical patterns woven in are a great fit. It is important that other parts of your outfit compliment the rolled up pants. Different shoe color, belt, open collar and the skinny tie are good combinations.
