A moccasin is a type of loafer that was first worn by native American tribes. The traditional moccasin is constructed of soft leather, often deerskin, has a thin sole, an ankle-high cut, and is decorated with intricate stitching, embroidery, and tassels.

Today moccasins are a commonly type of loafer worn inside the house. They are often times lined with wool, cotton, and other soft and insulating fibers.
