Brim
A brim is a part of a hat that protrudes horizontally from the base of the hats crown and encircles the entire hat.Brims are generally constructed out of a stiff material; either a stiff core covered in soft cloth or a heavily starched piece of cloth. There are many different sizes of brims, and in most cases the size or style of brim helps define the type of hat. Some various styles of brims include rolled brims, curved brims and wide brims. It is a common misnomer that baseball style hats have a brim in the front; this is actually known as a peak or a bill.
