Extra Long Ties - Extras Long Neckties - Mens Ties in XL
Why do we offer extra long ties? The normal necktie is about 57” to 58” long. Anyone taller than 6’3” often has challenges tying a normal length tie - especially if height is combined with a bigger neck. If you tie your tie and it often ends above your belt buckle, you will need extra long neckties.
Our selection XL mens neckties: The extra long ties we selected for you are at least 60’ long and are the perfect XL tie for tall men. Extra long ties will allow you to make even larger knots that use more of the ties material. Now you can even enjoy fashionable knots like a full Windsor and still have your tie end at the center of the belt buckle – just as it should.

About what does the necessary length for a tie depend?
When should you order XXL neckties?
By body size we mean height. Extra long ties featured above are 61 – 63 inches long. A normal length tie is only 57-59 inches. If you are above 6 foot 3 inches (or 190cm) then the extra long tie will be a good choice.
2. The Tie-Knot
Yes there are many different ways you can tie your necktie. Larger tie knots need more length of your necktie. If you are above 6 foot 2 inches and also want to tie a larger knot, like the double Windsor, then we suggest our extra long ties for you.
3. The Collar Size
3. The larger your collar the more of the tie’s length is needed to circumference your neck. If you have a neck size of 18 inches or more then the extra long necktie will be a good choice – especially if you are also above 6 foot tall and/or want to tie a larger tie knot.
A belly will cause the tie to arch thus requiring more length to reach down to the belt buckle. While there is no weight suggestion for extra long ties we suggest you try tying a normal length tie (one that is about 58 inches when untied) and see how it fits. Typically men above 6 foot 2 inches, a neck size over 17 inches, and in excess of 200lbs, will need a longer length tie.
5. Tips to Tie a Tie Longer
Do you have a nice looking tie in your wardrobe but have not been able to wear it because it doesn’t measure up to your statue? No worries! There are some tips how to tie a tie longer by choosing a smaller tie knot such as the Four in Hand, half Windsor, or Shelby knot.
6. Tips to Tie a Tie Shorter
Did you think you need an extra long tie but then found out that the tie is actually too long? Don’t cut of your tie quite yet! Instead choose a larger tie knot like the double Windsor or Prince Albert knot. You can also use a tie bar or tie clip and pin up the narrow end of you tie behind the wide end. Another great tip is to tug the narrow end of the necktie in between two shirt buttons to avoid having the narrow end visible.
