The Bow Tie 


When it comes to standard Black Tie Attire, it is typical to opt for a solid black bow and it can be self tie or pre-tied depending on your bow tie capabilities. Some of us are more adept at tying a bow tie than others no matter how many YouTube tutorials we watch.  You can deviate from the norm and experiment with textured black ties as well as patterned bow ties.  For example, a ribbed black bow can add a subtle dose of individuality to your look when you're in a room full of other dapper dudes in tuxedos and black bow ties.

Most tuxedo wearers default to solid black dress socks but that doesn't have to be the case.  You can add a personalized touch to your black dress attire by wearing colorful and patterned socks. We love seeing solid red socks, polka dot socks and patterned black and white socks.

It is very common for most men to think that all boutonnieres and flower lapels are the same but they are not.  Boutonnieres can run the gamut from super simple to uber complex and can vary in flower, color and size.  Experiment with adding a flower or boutonniere to your tuxedo and hit it out of the part by utilizing a flower that happens to be your dates favorite one.
