How to match the Striped Neck Tie

The striped neck tie continues to be a classic and elegant business tie. The brighter the colors, such as pastel tones, the more sporty and spring time they look. The first thing to consider when combining the striped tie is to consider the shirt. As a general rule, striped ties are best combined with plain and single colored dress shirts. Combining a striped tie with a striped shirt is difficult but if done right is very fashionable. If you choose to do this combine narrow striped with wide stripes to set a contrast. A shirt with fine stripes can be combined quite well with a wide striped tie.

As for as the colors are concerned be careful to combine colors that are in conflict with one another. Combining pink with Red, green and purple, or blue with turquoise are some examples of quite painful color matching. White and light blue are the easiest shirt colors to combine and for the person with small closet space or limited budget may want to stay with these basic shirt colors.
