The Opanak is a traditional shoe worn in Bulgaria, Macedonia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia. Its construction is very similar to traditional loafers in the fact that it is traditionally produced out of leather and does not have laces resulting in a shoe that can be slipped on and off. The defining feature of the Opanak shoe is the hornlike appendage that curls back from the tip of the toe.

The design of the horned tip is highly regional, and one can determine where the shoe was produced by the distinct style of the horn.

Today Opanak shoes are not that popular in metropolitan areas though are still quite popular in rural areas of the Balkans.
