Kittel
The kittel is a type of overcoat worn by members of the Jewish faith during special circumstances. A kittel is often used as a burial shroud by male Jews and worn on special occasions such as Yom Kippur, the Passover Seder and Rosh Hashanah.
The kittel itself is a pure white overcoat that has no pockets and a minimal amount of stitching. The focus of the kittel is on simplicity and purity - thus it is traditionally used during funerals and religious observances.
Unlike other articles of symbolic clothing that tend to fall by the wayside over time, the kittel is still utilized today by observant Jews.
