Eisenhower Jacket

Read about this military uniform jacket invented by Dwight Eisenhower before Word War II:

The Eisenhower jacket is a type of military uniform jacket designed by former American president Dwight Eisenhower for use by the American military following World War II.

Commonly called the Ike jacket, the Eisenhower jacket is easily identifiable by its short length hat terminates at the waist, heavy wool construction and large matching pockets on both sides of the chest.

The Eisenhower jacket was based on a M1944 wool field jack and modified to Eisenhowers specifications with the goal of making movement less restrictive for soldiers on the field.
