A Jutti is a traditional style of shoe first created in the Northwest state of Punjab. Jutti are a slip on shoe (closely resembling a slipper) with no laces or fasteners of any kind. The back of the shoe rises fairly high and hits the achilles tendon area, while the front of the shoe covers the toes but does not rise high onto the foot. Typically jutti are constructed out of soft leather and embroidered with colorful threads, beads or both.

Jutti are not an everyday shoe in India, rather they are typically worn on special occasions like weddings where people prefer to dress up in traditional clothing that celebrates Indian history and heritage.
