A ghillie collar is a style of lace up collar that can be found on a ghillie shirt. The ghillie collar is operated by a length of cord that is woven through eyelets (holes) that are incorporated into both sides of the garments v shaped neckline. To close the collar and tighten the neckline the two ends of the cord are pulled tight thus drawing the fabric together. Ghillie shirts are most commonly found at Renaissance fairs and as part of a traditional Scotsman look when worn with a kilt. The most common analogy for a ghillie collar would be the laces of a tennis shoe.
